What’s New
with our final session of the series on April 22, 2009
Museum of History and Industry (MOHAI)
2700 24th Avenue East, Seattle WA 98112
CHITA is offering a series of programs to help you move ahead with Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), regardless of where you are in the process of using EMRs. This multi-part education series will give you the opportunity to hear from professionals in WA State discuss their hands-on experience with what worked and what did not work when they implemented EMRs in their organizations.
The topics will range from auditing medical records for access, risk management concerns, clinical perspectives, state medical record laws, ROI issues, role in e-Discovery, and much more. All individuals -- physicians, nurses, health information management professionals, IT leadership and staff, administrators (in patient, hospital outpatient, and physician practice settings), legal professionals, vendors, and others impacted by the transition to and use of EMRS -- are encouraged to attend.
Online registration for the second session, January 28, 2009, is now open. More information can be found on our CHITA Forums page...
Alphabet Soup: The New CHITA Workgroup
Juggling HIPAA with other regulations? Performing multiple surveys of all your systems? Audits that never end? Let's work together to simplify it all!
There are a wide variety of standards imposed on health care organizations today. Each standard is slightly different than the rest but they do contain some common elements.
CHITA has chartered a workgroup to compare the various standards to each other. The goal is to develop a tool that would compare the various standards to each other in order to understand which imposes the strictest requirements.
