Community Health Information Technology Alliance

CHITA Forums

The CHITA Forums – now entering their seventh year – first started in February 2000 when CHITA began focusing its efforts on issues related to privacy and security of health data transmission using Internet technologies. First named the HIPAA Readiness Forums, they responded to the shared concerns of many in our community as they rushed to prepare for new federal regulations and security deadlines.

Since that time, the Forums have evolved to address newer and more diverse topics of concern to CHITA’s members as they respond to the passage of new state and federal legislation, adapt to changing technologies, and respond to the formation of new organizations and alliances.

Led by a cross-disciplinary planning committee made up of volunteers representing a range of health care perspectives, the CHITA Forums continue to provide educational opportunities and places to network for hundreds of professionals each year.
